Portable Pixel Progression by BLUEamnesiac Portable Pixel Progression by BLUEamnesiac
Updated: 10/26/2014 The New Nintendo 3DS XL was added and there is now more emphasis on the XL lineage.

Updated: 10/17/2014 A new Nintendo 3DS!

Presenting portable pixel progression pixel-art presentation. :-P

Note: Technically the Game & Watch didn't use pixels in its display but was included anyway.  The Game Boy Light and Super Game Boy 2 were never released outside of Japan and the Game Boy Micro should have been arranged below the original DS if this were a strictly chronological chart.  It just happens to look better situated closer to the other Game Boy Advance systems.

Then they got from the good stuff to the hard-as-hell-to-use stuff.

That's very nice, I didn't know there's so many verions of Nintendo. My first console is DS- Lite, but I have played the Game & Watch. :) (Smile)
Am I the only one who don't understand the point on 2DS. :-? (Confused) I'm not saying it's bad, I just don't get it.Sweating a little...

Super Game Boy 2? I never heard of that. Interesting.

BTW, I was thinking about how Nintendo consoles were associated with their handhelds.

NES - Game Boy
SNES - Super Game Boy
N64 - Game Boy Color
Gamecube - Game Boy Advance
Wii - DS
Wii U - 3DS

Do you think what I just listed would be accurate associations? The reason is that I see how the 3DS and Wii U have the Nintendo Network ID, and I've also noticed that Sony has been trying to link the PS4 with the PS Vita. Even though I've yet to own the PS4 and the Vita, I heard all about it.

The First Pokemon Walker would probably be linked to the Gameboy Colour. As it was used to unlock things in various Pokemon Games on the GBC via the Infared Port.

That was part of the rational behind having it packaged with Heart Gold and Soul Silver on the DS. Covering other areas of the Remake that most people were not even aware were a thing. Hell, the GTS Tower is in the same location as the Cell Phone Tower on Pokemon Crystal.

Other than that... awesome!

I had a chance to get a Virtual Boy for $20 when it was being liquidated but bought another Game Boy instead. ^^;  In a way, I kind of wish I got the VB.

It's definitely only worth having for collecting.
There are some people making homebrew for it and there's even a Game Boy emulator.

It's cool concept but executed poorly. They should have done the RED & BLUE styled visual.

it's easier on the eyes and far more attractive. But Believe it or not Alot of Virtual Boy Emulators
use this style so if you still have a pair of Anaglyph Glasses your good.

Definitely, the Red/Blue setup would have much easier on the eyes.  Why they insisted on Red/Black is still puzzling.

I can answer that.

while Yes Red/Blue would have been better.

The Reason they did Red and Black is cause Red LEDs are Cheaper to produce then any other color.

That would be sad if cost effectiveness is the reason they went that way, and they probably have.  I'd much prefer a blue-lite LCD panes to that.  The refresh rate would have been horrible and it would still have ghosting like the Game Boy, but at least I wouldn't get a migraine if I played for longer than 10-15 minutes.

You're lucky.  My eyes have a low tolerance for an over abundance of red.  That's also partly why I hate using the JPEG format, because it's terrible at rendering red with high levels of compression.

Even though the Game and Watch did not use pixels, it was still important. If it hadn't been for Game & Watch, we probably would not have the Game Boy.

Guh, I regret not trying harder to get my hands on a Gameboy Advance SP to play some of my original Game Boy games. I have a Super Game Boy, but that's not really portable. And trying to find one on Ebay for a decent price (and win the bid) just is very time consuming.

I know what you mean, still don't have a GBA SP of my own either.  Nor a GBA Micro, which is fairly pricey for what it is.
